JOIN THE KENT LIBRARY ASSOCIATION NOW!
Thank you for considering membership in the Kent Library Association, the organization that operates the Kent Memorial Library. Although we serve as the public library for the community and there is no charge for a library card, State and local government only provide 30% of our operating budget. We must raise annually the remaining 70%. One way we do so is through your membership.
In 2009, our library attracted children and adults from across Litchfield County and neighboring counties in New York and Massachusetts. Our programs have received national recognition for their innovative content and quality. We are proud of our expanding services which encourage reading, learning and imagination.
Over the past 12 months, the Library has
• Increased circulation 20% to over 36,000, adding over 500 new titles
• Provided over 200 programs for more than 4,200 children
• Offered 205 programs that attracted 2,000 adults
There are many worthy organizations requesting your support, but the Kent Memorial Library is unique in providing services to everyone: adults, teens, and children; residents and visitors. Many of our activities bring visitors to the community who support our local merchants.
